To complement the exceptional micro- and macrodynamics, transparency, and resolution of our power amplifiers, we needed one crucial element: a preamplifier that delivers seamless, continuous reproduction of authentic human expression – whether vocal nuance or performance uniqueness – across every genre of music. After years of experimenting with different approaches, we settled on an ultraminimalist hybrid preamplifier design, centred exclusively on the Western Electric 300B.
Introduced by Western Electric in 1938 and recently reissued by the same company, the new 300B electron tube meets all Ubiqaudiolab requirements for dynamic expressiveness, inner resolution, unforced transparency, and a natural harmonic spectrum, finally bringing together all the elements of real musical performances that are essential for a system designed to convey the scale and grandeur of a live musical event.
Developed exclusively around this legendary tube, the Ubiquitous 300B is a cost-no-object, high-end preamplifier engineered to work seamlessly with Ubiqaudiolab power amplifiers and to serve as a true state-of-the-art preamplification control centre – an endgame analogue hub – ready to transport and amplify an unaltered signal from the world’s finest ultra-high-end audio sources, with objective authority. Neutral, accurate sound is one thing, but achieving truly realistic lifelike reproduction requires much more effort.
The Ubiquitous 300B preamplifier is all about that musical arrival. Fatigue-free at its core, it evokes a thrill for more: more music, more journeys into new sonic micro and macro universes, and more opportunities to rediscover familiar records.
